ADMINISTRATORS AND MODERATORS
Anyone "official" who is connected with the Find-a-Therapist.com bulletin boards will be designated as "moderator" or "Staff."
RULES
We are concerned about your welfare, as well as the welfare of others on the Find-a-Therapist.com website. Please remember that while our bulletin boards are a good space for mutual support and self-help, they cannot take the place of your doctor, therapist or your local crisis center. If you are in danger, call your doctor or therapist, local crisis line, 911, or a family member. Administrators, Moderators, and visitors/posters are not qualified to diagnose or give any type of treatment advice when it comes to your personal situation.
Please be aware that some of the topics discussed are of sensitive nature and can be triggering for certain individuals.
This section contains rules that all members must observe. Failure to do so may result in your loss of access to the Find-a-Therapist.com Community without warning.
Personal attacks, foul language, or abusive behavior, as judged by the Administrators or Moderators, will not be tolerated. The Administrator has the right to refuse access to members that disrupt the Community, and will do so.
Flooding, flaming, spamming and advertisements of any types of products without the express written consent of Find-a-Therapist.com, as well as the use of programs such as bots scripts, worms, or trojan horses will NOT BE TOLERATED for any reason. Any type of participation in this type of activity will cause you to be permanently banned from the Find-a-Therapist.com bulletin boards. In addition, we will report you to your ISP for termination of your account.
Do not post personal information (addresses, phone numbers, etc.) on the screen. This is for your protection.
Messages that might put the Find-a-Therapist.com Community staff or Find-a-Therapist.com or Find-a-Therapist.com, Inc. at legal risk regarding libel, slander, or other legal issues should not be posted. If found, appropriate action taken against the person who posted the message will be taken. This includes "chain" letters, pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing, and other such activities.
SUICIDE THREATS, LETTERS OF GOODBYE (about dying)
The Find-a-Therapist.com Forums are NOT an appropriate place for threats to commit suicide, hurt yourself, or self-injury. In addition, detailed accounts of these kinds of acts are not permitted. If you engage in this type of behavior on our bulletin boards, you will be immediately removed, without warning.
This is a support atmosphere. While people are NOT always in positive spirits and it is fine to discuss what you are feeling, posting suicide notes and goodbye letters is not permitted. The people here are your peers, not trained professionals, and letters of goodbye or suicide notes leave everyone feeling incredibly helpless. If you are in immediate danger or feel suicidal then you need to call 911, your doctor or therapist, a friend or family member or a hotline, and seek help immediately. You need to seek real-time help where a professional or loved one can actually talk with you preferably face-to-face, or if necessary by phone.
